Zion Canyon Earth Day Celebration Zion National Park Springdale Utah

2017 Zion Canyon Earth Day Celebration

Nothing celebrates the splendor of Zion National Park like Earth Day. Another great annual event hosted on the grounds of the Bit and Spur is the Zion Canyon Earth Day celebration. Showcasing great live music as well as vendors displaying new and upcoming green energy applications and products.

The festival continues to be a sustainability focused educational event through recycling, using solar power, adding engaging educational booths, and encouraging art vendors to use recycled or reusable materials.

The event, including a silent auction, and beer & wine garden, takes place on the lawn of the Bit & Spur Restaurant at 1212 Zion Park Boulevard from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Live solar powdered music will be accompanied by art and food vendors, activities and demonstrations about, alternative energy, native plants, solar ovens, environmental art and sustainable products. Kids can participate in activities at the Kids Zone.

The Earth Day Committee believes that educational events like Earth Day inform the public about the importance of sustainability and alternative energy sources. The Town of Springdale is continuing its efforts to offset the energy used in public facilities to solar power and currently has 94.6 kW solar capacity installed. Additionally, private residents collectively have 73.4 kW installed. The Town of Springdale has been recognized as an EPA Green Power Community since 2008.
