2nd Annual Southern Utah Tourism Summit Names Cedar City Its Host Location
Mark your calendars! The debut of the Southern Utah Tourism Summit was a year ago and the sequel has a release date: March 28-29. This year sights have been set on Cedar City – aka Festival City, USA – as the 2019 host location. With the final weekend in March approaching quickly, it’s time to officially light the fire of excitement and fill you in on why this is surely going to be the best Summit yet!
Expectations for the Southern Utah Tourism Summit this year have been upgraded. Instead of the mere 55 days that represent the entire planning process of last year’s event, the blueprint for the follow-up has been in the works for an entire year. As expected, registration numbers are already on track to surpass last year. To meet greater demand and improve on previous successes, a number of new features have been added to the 2019 Summit itinerary including:
-A two-day duration instead of one
-Versatile break-out sessions
-Several sessions will be held off-site for a change of pace and scenery
-A networking mixer to socialize and increase your circle of like-minded peers
-Vastly enhanced swag bags for all registered attendees
Speakers will include some familiar faces in addition to some incredible new presenters. Topics will range from local tourism statistics to customer service, word-of-mouth marketing, social media and content marketing, brain health, business-building, and more!
This year the Summit has been planned by a committee comprised of partnering business owners as well as representatives from each of the following counties: Washington, Iron, Kane, and Garfield. Directors are proud to say that the entire event has been conceived and executed by a collaboration of public & private organizations. This has allowed for an expanded vision and seamless implementation.
For the second year, SUTS is proudly collaborating with and highlighting the Zion Forever Project. Any monetary contributions to ZFP will go toward causes directly associated with Cedar Breaks Monument. For more info, visit zionpark.org.
If you weren’t able to attend last year’s Summit in St. George, head to the “Previous Summits” tab on the official website, wearesoutah.com. You’ll find recap videos, lots of photos, and a lot more that will charge you up for this year’s gathering.
A main goal of the SUTS is to foster connectivity among the incredible people living and working in our tourism-based economy. The greater community of Southern Utah is one of the most remarkable in the entire country. We envision all of us coming together, working with each other, and helping one another reach their goals. When one of us succeeds, we all succeed. This is the mindset the SUTS strives to promote.
About the Host Location
Cedar City was once one of Utah’s hidden gems. In recent decades, it’s been discovered by the world. This is in large part due to its Tony-Award winning regional theater, the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Since then, it had admirably maintained its small-town feel. The area is home to two of Utah’s best-loved treasures: Cedar Breaks Monument and Brian Head Resort. Toss in a surprisingly killer restaurant scene and outdoor activities galore and you’ve got the ideal place to host the 2019 Southern Utah Tourism Summit.
